If you told me last year that I’d have a book out now, I wouldn’t have believed you. Some of the idea was there, but the whole act of creating a 95k+ word debut novel, editing, designing, publishing, printing… not a chance.
By Hook & Crook was released a month ago today, and I can’t thank the people who have supported its release enough. So many amazing friends, family, and other readers have bought copies, and … well, I have a lot of news. Let’s talk about where we are a month in! I promise you, there’s some great stuff here you won’t want to miss.
One Badass Book Trailer
If you’re the visual type, you should definitely check out this trailer. The vibe is sexy, intriguing, and keeps you wondering what’s next… similar to the reviews I’ve received for the book.
Expect more videos! I really love making them and think they add a lot of feeling to the world, the city of Azoria, the—ahem—unique economic system, and the characters.

I’m beyond excited for this. Luke is narrator for over 450 audiobooks, including Three Body Problem, the Iron Druid series, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Nora Roberts, and so much more.
Luke and I got to chat on the phone and collaborated back and forth on the characters, the story as a whole, the voices, the vibe, and let me tell you: he is absolutely NAILING it. I can’t wait for the audiobook to be available on Audible!

You can now get copies of By Hook & Crook on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles website, and many others. I’ve also opened a web store to sell signed author copies if you’d rather order direct! I can’t promise the fastest shipping and may run out of stock, but I’ll do my best to get these to you.

New Hardcover Edition
Availability can be a heck of an issue with books sometimes; there’s a lot of pages to print, bind, and glue, and—if I may say so myself—a badass glossy cover to get right.
That said, jacketed hardcovers are a real pain. Jacketed hardcover copies of By Hook & Crook are still available on Amazon and direct and signed from Chymist Press when available. You can also find them from retail sites like Barnes and Noble and other national sellers (including some indie bookstores like Gibson’s Bookstore).
I’ve also released a Casebound Hardcover you can order on Amazon. It’s $4 cheaper and includes no dust jacket, but the hardcover case is still gorgeously printed in glossy high def.
I hope you enjoyed the updates and are ready for more! Book two is well underway, and the mad adventures of Lars, Liora, Trin, Jax, and Keer aren’t taking a break any time soon.
